To help you choose the right solution for your FTTx deployment, we have categorized our extensive range of Fiber Distribution Boxes (FDB) based on their fiber core capacity and typical application environments. Whether for indoor FTTH terminal points or rugged outdoor distribution nodes, OTRANS has the matching model.
| Core Capacity | Representative Models | Primary Application | Protection Grade | Mounting Type |
| Mini Capacity (1-4 Cores) | BIB-001A, BIA-002B, BOB-004A | Indoor FTTH / Wall Outlets / Small Office Termination | IP54 (Dust-proof & Splash-proof) | Wall-mounted |
| Medium Capacity (8-12 Cores) | BOC-008A, BOA-012A, BOB-012A | FTTX Distribution Nodes / Floor-level Distribution | IP65 (Waterproof & UV-resistant) | Wall / Pole-mounted |
| High Capacity (16-24 Cores) | BOD-016A, BOB-024A | Outdoor Splitting / Pole-mount Distribution / Building Entry | IP65 / IP66 (Severe Weather Protection) | Wall / Pole-mounted |

All OTRANS distribution boxes utilize High-Impact ABS+PC materials to ensure long-term durability and mechanical protection for delicate fiber splices.
The safety and protection design of Fiber distribution box is an important part of optical fiber communication system. In terms of physical security, the appropriate installation location should be selected, dustproof and waterproof design should be carried out, and physical protection facilities should be added to ensure the safety of the equipment. In terms of network security, it is necessary to set up strict access control, timely security updates and vulnerability patches to improve the security and stability of devices.
In order to adapt to the promotion of FTTX/FTTH, OTRANS has carefully introduced FTTX optical distribution network solutions from the office end to the user, including passive optical distribution facilities involved in ODN network: integrated distribution frame (cabinet), optical distribution frame, optical distribution frame, optical handover box, optical distribution box, optical splitter, optical splitter, optical splitter, optical junction box, Fiber distribution box, optical terminal box, etc.
Specialized fiber distribution boxes offer versatile mounting options, allowing for installation on walls, poles, or inside cabinets based on network requirements. Available in both indoor and outdoor configurations, these boxes can be used in a variety of settings, from data centers to external network nodes, providing flexibility for different deployment environments.
Are OTRANS distribution boxes compatible with SC and LC adapters?
Absolutely. Our modular adapter panels support SC simplex and LC duplex adapters, giving you the flexibility to customize the port density based on your network design.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor fiber distribution box?
The primary difference lies in the IP rating (Ingress Protection). Outdoor boxes (like our BOA/BOD series) are typically IP65 or IP66 rated, featuring UV-resistant ABS+PC materials and waterproof seals to withstand rain and dust. Indoor boxes (BIB/BIA series) focus on compact design and ease of access for wall-mounted FTTH applications.
Can these boxes house PLC splitters?
Yes. Most of our FDB models (8 cores and above) are designed with internal space to accommodate 1:8 or 1:16 mini-type PLC splitters, allowing for both splicing and splitting functions in one unit.
